Just The Way You Are

Don't go changing, to try and please me
You never let me down before
Don't imagine you're too familiar
And I don't see you anymore
I wouldn't leave you in times of trouble
We never could have come this far
I took the good times, I'll take the bad times
I'll take you just the way you are

Don't go trying some new fashion
Don't change the color of your hair
You always have my unspoken passion
Although I might not seem to care

I don't want clever conversation
I never want to work that hard
I just want someone that I can talk to
I want you just the way you are.

I need to know that you will always be
The same old someone that I knew
What will it take 'till you believe in me
The way that I believe in you.

I said I love you, and that's forever
And this I promise from the heart
I could not love you any better
I love you just the way you are.

I don't want clever conversation
I never want to work that hard
I just want someone that I can talk to
I want you just the way you are.

Candy

To see the video: http://youtube.com/watch?v=6bLOjmY--TA

It's a rainy afternoon
In 1990
The big city geez it's been 20 years-
Candy-you were so fine

Beautiful beautiful
Girl from the north
You burned my heart
With a flickering torch
I had a dream that no one else could see
You gave me love for free

candy, candy , Candy I can't let you go
All my life you're haunting me
I loved you so

Candy, candy , Candy I can't let you go
Life is crazy
Candy baby

Yeah, well it hurt me real bad when you left
I'm glad you got out
But I miss you
I've had a hole in my heart
For so long
I've learned to fake it and
Just smile along

Down on the street
Those men are all the same
I need a love
Not games
Not games

Candy, Candy, Candy I can't let you go
All my life you're haunting me
I loved you so
Candy, Candy , Candy I can't let you go
Life is crazy
I Know baby
Candy baby

UOU UOU UOU
Candy, Candy, Candy I can't let you go
All my life you're haunting me
I loved you so

CANDY CANDY CANDY
life is crazy
candy baby

candy baby,
candy, candy

Famine

OK, I want to talk about Ireland
Specifically I want to talk about the "famine"
About the fact that there never really was one
There was no "famine"
See Irish people were only allowed to eat potatoes
All of the other food
Meat fish vegetables
Were shipped out of the country under armed guard
To England while the Irish people starved
And then on the middle of all this
They gave us money not to teach our children Irish
And so we lost our history
And this is what I think is still hurting me

See we're like a child that's been battered
Has to drive itself out of it's head because it's frightened
Still feels all the painful feelings
But they lose contact with the memory

And this leads to massive self-destruction
alcoholism, drug adiction
All desperate attempts at running
And in it's worst form
Becomes actual killing

And if there ever is gonna be healing
There has to be remembering
And then grieving
So that there then can be forgiving
There has to be knowledge and understanding

All the lonely people
where do they all come from

An American army regulation
Says you mustn't kill more than 10% of a nation
'Cos to do so causes permanent "psychological damage"
It's not permanent but they didn't know that
Anyway during the supposed "famine"
We lost a lot more than 10% of our nation
Through deaths on land or on ships of emigration
But what finally broke us was not starvation
but it's use in the controlling of our education
School go on about "Black 47"
On and on about "The terrible famine"
But what they don't say is in truth
There really never was one

(Excuse me)
All the lonely people
(I'm sorry, excuse me)
Where do they all come from
(that I can tell you in one word)
All the lonely people
where do they all belong

So let's take a look shall we
The highest statistics of child abuse in the EEC
And we say we're a Christian country
But we've lost contact with our history
See we used to worship God as a mother
We're sufferin from post traumatic stress disorder
Look at all our old men in the pubs
Look at all our young people on drugs
We used to worship God as a mother
Now look at what we're doing to each other
We've even made killers of ourselves
The most child-like trusting people in the Universe
And this is what's wrong with us
Our history books the pareny figures lied to us

I see the Irish
As a race like a child
That got itself basned in the face

And if there ever is gonna be healing
There has to be remembering
And then grieving
So that there then can be forgiving
There has to be knowledge and understanding

All the lonely people
Where do they all come from
All the lonely people
Where do they all come from

We stand on the brink of a great achievement
In this Ireland there is no solution
to be found to our disagreements
by shooting eachother

There is no real invader here
We are all irish in all our
different kinds of ways
We must not, now or ever in the future,
show anything to each other
exept tollerance, forbearance
and neighbourly love

because of our tradition everyone here
knows how he is and what God expects him to do.

Mother

[Verse 1]
I would never let a tear fall from your eyes, no, no no
Cause everything you are to me, ohh I could never let you hurt inside
You mean so much, and I'm so thankful that you're in my life
And I appreciate your love and all your sacrifice
Without you by my side, I never could survive
I wouldn't be the woman standin' here before your eyes

[Pre-Chorus]
You taught me strength and you gave me guidance
Whenever faith was lost, you were there to find it
And all because a mother's love is unconditional
With all my heart and all my soul, I wanna let you know

[Chorus]
That I thank you, and I love you
And I would never place anyone above you
Said I thank you, and I love you
And I will never ever place no one above you

You have given me life, and I just want you to know
That you're the reason I'm here today
I will never let go to everything that we share
And nothing can compare
I thank you, I thank you, I thank you, here's what I'm sayin'

[Verse 2]
See, I've been blessed to be raised by a woman so strong
Cause even when I did things wrong
You would show me just the way that I should carry on
You kept me safe, and you protected me with all you had
And any time I was in need you gave your very last
Without you by my side, I never could survive
I wouldn't be the woman standing here before your eyes

[Pre Chorus]
You taught me strength and, you gave me guidance
Whenever faith was lost, you were there to find it
And all because a mother's love is unconditional
With all my heart, and all my soul, I wanna let you know

[Bridge]
I remember wakin' up early Monday morning
With my new dress, and my new shoes, with the buckles on em
And you would kiss my face, and say "I love you babe"
And you would be right there to take all of my fear away
And when he broke my heart, you said it was hist lost
And not to think about, "you're better off without him"
Remember when they said that I was never gonna make it
You said "it's yours, and all you gotta do is go and take it"

[Chorus]
I thank you, and I love you
And I would never place any above you
Said I thank you, and I love you
And I will never ever place no one above you

See, you have given me life, and I just want you to know
That you're the reason I'm here today
I will never let go to everything that we share
And nothing can compare
I thank you, I thank you, I thank you, here's what I'm sayin'

I thank you, and I love you
And I would never ever place anyone above you
Said I thank you, and I love you
And I will never ever place no one above you

See, you have given me life, and I just want you to know
That you're the reason I'm here today
I will never let go to everything that we share
And nothing can compare
I thank you, I thank you, I thank you, here's what I'm sayin' yeah, yeah yeah yeah yeah

The Fool

Gather round me buddy, raise your glasses high
And drink to a fool, a crazy fool
Who told his baby goodbye
Too late he found he loved her so much he wants to die

So drink to a fool, a crazy fool
Who told his baby goodbye
He needs her, he needs her so
He wonders why he let her go

She's found, she's found, she's found
A new love buddy, he's a lucky guy
So drink to a fool, a crazy fool
Who told his baby goodbye
